St. Paul offers many opportunities for fun and fellowship – opportunities that bind us together as a community and help us to understand ourselves as part of the family of God. Alongside other ministry opportunities where you can become involved and become a part of doing God’s work, St. Paul offers groups that meet to serve and to have fun together.
January meeting – details TBA
Church Fellowship Hall
Jane Miller, President – Dorcas Circle
The Dorcas Circle is our women’s group, with a membership of about 50 women. They meet the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm. Meetings consist of devotion time, and a business session where service and support projects are discussed, and end with a light treat.
The Dorcas Circle’s mission work consists of contributing monetary donations to many UCC and other missions throughout the year. In the fall they distribute Thanksgiving baskets of fruits and cookies to our homebound members, take Christmas gifts to the children in Murray Center, and in the spring they deliver homemade cupcakes to our members in Friendship Manor Health Care and the Washington County Extended Care.
Dorcas Circle participates with other churches in delivering meals-on-wheels and maintains a card ministry where we send expressions of sympathy or congratulations to others in the church. In addition, the Dorcas Circle serves funeral lunches for the families of members who have passed away, provide for the altar flowers during worship, and are the greeters in church on Sunday mornings.
By selling fresh, homegrown pecans in time for holiday baking and hosting a Country Store at our annual church picnic, the Dorcas Circle keeps busy and keeps their mission projects well funded.
Annual special events include an October trip to DuBois Center where a lovely meal is served in the beautiful outdoor surroundings and a December annual meal and a fun gift exchange.
All women of the church are welcome and encouraged to join, or just come and spend the evening with the Dorcas Circle.
