Sunday School and Confirmation Kicks-off on August 22 at 10:15am
This year’s Sunday School program begins earlier, Sunday August 22nd, with a celebration leading into the annual Church Picnic immediately following.
Our Children’s Education is important to us all!
The St. Paul’s Sunday School program is open to all children Pre-School through 6th grade. Our program, which could be called “rotation cubed”, keeps children interested and learning about God through three different learning segments each Sunday (all completed in 50 minutes time – yes, we keep them hopping!):
Segment 1: Beginning at 10:10am each Sunday, children meet in their designated classrooms with their Shepherds who develop personal relationships with the children and work on basic Christian memory work in a program we call “Stepping Stones” (age-specific learning objectives listed below).
Segment 2: In the second learning segment, each class is escorted by their Shepherds to the rotation workshop stations. In each 4-week rotation one Bible story is the focus of the learning, and each week the kids travel to different stations, such as Art, Cooking, Games, Drama, Journaling, and Science, to learn more about that Bible story through interactive, hands-on activities.
Segment 3: The children finish their Sunday School time in the third of the three morning segments: a rollicking song time lead by our Director of Music Ministries back in the sanctuary. Once a month during worship the entire Sunday School sings one of the songs they have been practicing. The Sunday School morning concludes at 11:00 AM with a recap of the day’s lesson and closes with the Lord’s Prayer.
And our children love it!
One parent reports: “Our children so love their time in Sunday School that some sleepy Sunday mornings the kids get us out of bed with the call “let’s get to church!”
